For more detailed information about the search methods, see below. KEYWORD or FREE TEXT SEARCHYou can search by KEYWORDS for images with or without case descriptions. Start your Keyword Search by entering keywords into the box located on the left side of your screen.
A SEARCH using the INDEX will help you accurately identify terms we use in our images database. You can start your search by clicking one of 5 keyword search categories in the upperleft area of the screen:
Once you click on a category, a pop-up window will appear with a list of keywords. Click on a keyword to populate the Keyword Search box and execute a search. [NOTE: IF NO MENU APPEARS WHEN YOU CLICK ON A SEARCH CATEGORY, YOUR BROWSER MAY BE CONFIGURED TO BLOCK POP-UP WINDOWS. PLEASE GO TO YOUR BROWSER SECURITY PREFERENCES TO ALLOW POP-UPS FOR THIS SITE.]
You can perform a self-test by searching for cases as unknowns. All of the cases with case descriptions can be accessed by entering the keyword "UNKNOWN" into the Keyword Search box found in the left margin, and searching for cases with case descriptions. (See Sample 1, below.) If you would like to view the cases in groups of twenty-five, start with the keywords "Group1"(note: there is no space between Group and 1), and proceed later to the higher groups. (See Sample 2, below.) You can also find these keywords in the Search Index.
Collections of special interest have been assembled, and can be viewed by entering the name of the collection desired into one of the keyword boxes located on the left of your screen. The image collections currently available include:
All of the collections can be viewed as unknowns by following the Self Test instructions above. Note: Some collections will have more images available by choosing an IMAGES ONLY search.
